Taylor Hendrix, APRN

I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but spent the majority of my life in Indiana prior to moving to Louisville in 2021. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Indiana University in 2016. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I dedicated my time to fundraising for Riley Hospital for Children through the Indiana University Dance Marathon. I also spent time working as a medical assistant in a pediatric primary care office during the school year and as a certified nursing assistant in the Intensive Care Unit at a nearby hospital when I returned home for the summers. During my undergraduate studies, I also developed a love for cultural competence and diversity inclusion. I spent two separate summers studying abroad in Central and South America while working towards earning a minor in Spanish. I graduated from my nursing class with highest honors and moved to Indianapolis to start my career as registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana.

I spent the next 6 years working as a bedside nurse, getting married, starting my own family, and returning to college to pursue a graduate degree. In 2022, I earned my Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP), Summa Cum Laude, from Purdue University and am now a certified pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care.

My husband, Nic, accepted a position at Churchill Downs, which is what brought our family to Louisville. We have two young boys, Bennett and Owen, and an anxious bernedoodle named Moose.

In my free time, I love to read, travel, try new restaurants, and spend time exploring outdoors with my family. As the newest addition to the Kaplan Barron Pediatrics team, I am absolutely privileged to care for the children of Louisville and the surrounding areas amongst some of the most compassionate and dedicated providers I have had the opportunity to meet.
