I am originally from Ashland, Kentucky and graduated from Boyd County High School.  I attended the University of Kentucky where I graduated Magna Cum Laude and received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with Departmental Honors and Bachelor of Science in Biology. I received my medical degree in 2011 from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where I graduated with Distinction.

I met my wife as an undergraduate at UK and after we both completed medical school we moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan. I completed my Pediatric Residency training through Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners/Michigan State University at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital. Following my residency, I worked for a year in a private pediatric office in the Grand Rapids area seeing patients in the outpatient setting and in the newborn nursery. I am an American Academy of Pediatrics board certified physician and diplomate of the AAP.
