Jeanna Phillips APRN
I am a Louisville native, born and raised. I have always loved school, learning, and the potential education provides which is exhibited by my extensive education. I graduated from the University of Louisville with my first degree in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine in 2001. Afterward, I went directly into the University of Louisville’s graduate program for Exercise Physiology, graduating in 2003. In my first year of graduate school, I taught PE and coached soccer and swimming. During my final year of graduate school, I was manager of a Physical Medicine Department. There I recognized the value of a Nurse Practitioner as a provider who cares for the whole person. This insight established my desire to become a Nurse Practitioner. I graduated with my Accelerated BSN from Bellarmine University in 2005. After graduation, I moved to Chicago for a fresh start. In Chicago, I married my husband Brian and we were blessed with the birth of our two children Addison and Jack. After 8 years away from home we made the decision to return to Louisville to raise our family. Since coming home, I have worked in various roles in the Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU, and Pediatric Emergency Department. In 2017 I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degree. I have worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital since graduation. I am excited to be taking this next step in my career. By joining the staff of Kaplan Barron Pediatrics I will continue to nurture my practice and passion for the care of pediatric patients and their families. In my spare time, I love being with my family, listening to music, and traveling.
